The Property Management and Development (PMD) subject group in the School of Architecture Design and the Built Environment has expertise in real estate, planning and property development and building surveying. Land and buildings are extremely important for any enterprise and the assessment of their value and condition are at the heart of the advice that PMD is able to offer. The management of commercial property involves knowledge of legal tenure, service charges and dilapidations and requires an interdisciplinary professional approach. The procurement of land for development purposes and obtaining planning permission for development are key aspects of PMD’s knowledge base.
